Here are some other projects I found to be related to my own.
- Mapping in Africa with Hydrogen They used a big balloon one multiple robes to map a African city from up to 1km high and so created the first my of the area. There balloon was field with hydrogen which they could create on side for cheap. They didn’t map for OpenStreetMap but it shows that it works.
- The Silly Bird Balloon Project experimented with a lot of balloons and different construction. Have a special look at SB-35, SB-37 and SB-38. I got some good ideas from there work like using a drill for the robe. Thanks a lot for that!
- The Balloon Project crazy flights over cities all around the world. They let the balloons fly free without robe and followed it by bicycle, car and foot until the tiny hole in the balloons brought the camera down again.
- OpenStreetPhoto is buliding Mikrokopter to make aerial photography for OpenStreetMa.
